Love Today Friday: Treating Myself

30 Nov

Life is busy, anyone will tell you that. Whether you’re a full time worker or a stay at home mom, there are always 10,000 things that need to be done ASAP in order for your world to keep rotating. I’m not going to complain about my busyness, because I know how freaking lucky I am.

Instead, I’m using this Love Today Friday to give myself permission to take a little break. You see, even when I have time off, I can’t just sit and have time OFF. I fill up my days and nights with errands and projects and random spazzy song and dance routines for my baby. After a weekend of no work, I end up running myself ragged and feeling more tired than I did waking up on Friday morning.

As I mentioned yesterday, I have a wedding to attend tomorrow. So I’m using that event as an excuse to treat myself a little. I’ve made an appointment for me to get a manicure and pedicure at a local salon by my house. I haven’t treated myself to a manicure and pedicure since MY wedding over four years ago, so I’m pretty excited to just sit there and let someone else pamper me for a change.

I’ve also scheduled myself a free mini facial at my favorite beauty store, Origins. Did you know you could do that? Well, you can and you don’t even have to buy anything (even though I usually time my free facials with when I need to buy more lotion). It’s ridiculously relaxing and a fun little break from your everyday life. On top of that, when you walk out of the store your face is glowing like a model on a fragrance commercial. Honestly, I feel like I look 10 years younger when they’re done with me, which frankly at age 35 is sometimes needed…

So here’s my question for you: if you had 3 hours to yourself, what would YOU do?

Answer me in the comments and then make the time to go out and do it!

I don’t think it will come as a surprise when I say that 3 hours to myself would most likely be spent with my nose in a book. I am so predictable. But you knew that. I am sugar and spice, for heaven’s sake! That’s what a Snickerdoodle IS!

If I had 3 hours to myself, realistically I’d waste it on FB but what I SHOULD be doing is either running, napping, reading, drinking or shopping.
